Group Study Exchange (GSE) activities and Grand Island Rotary Clubs

Some of the newer Rotary members have asked questions about the exchange group scheduled to be in Grand Island August 8 through August 12. The following are some frequent questions.

1. What is the GSE?

The Group Study Exchange is a team of 4 to 6 non-Rotary members along with a Rotary member leader. The target age is 25 to 40 years old. There are about 1.2 million Rotary members in 33,000 clubs around the world. The GSE is one approach to build professional friendships between these clubs and members.

2. Why is this GSE group from India visiting clubs in our district?

Our district from greater Nebraska sent a GSE team to India last year. This group from India is the second part of the exchange. The Rotary clubs in India extended hospitality to Nebraskans, and now it is our turn to return the Rotary hospitality to this group of young professionals from India.

3. Was this group scheduled to be here earlier this Spring?

Travel complications caused a delay in scheduling so they were not here for the recent District Conference as is usually the arrangement.. Under current conditions International travel can take unexpected turns.

4. How long will the group be in our District, and what other clubs will be hosting them?

The group comes to Grand Island from Hastings on Monday, August 8 and goes to O’Neill on Saturday, August 13. The group is scheduled to be with the St. Paul Rotary Club one day during the week. Click here for their revised schedule.

Contact the GSE Host Team with questions.  You can help drive them to appointments and sit in on some of the appointments. They will be attending your weekly Rotary meeting.

Thank you for helping make these visitors welcome to Grand Island and sharing your professional vision.
